Fuel Better began with a mistake I never forgot. I once ran a 25km obstacle race through the mountains without bringing any food. By last quarter, I was already completely spent, and it drove home something I had never felt so clearly before: when you’re pushing hard in the mountains, food is fuel.
That experience changed how I looked at nutrition. The more I explored and lived on the go, the more obvious the problem became. Carrying high-quality fuel was surprisingly difficult. Most of what was convenient did not meet my standards, and most of what was healthy was simply not practical.
As I talked to more hikers, climbers, and adventurers, I realized this was not just my problem. Fuel Better was built for all of us who need portable, dependable nutrition that actually holds up in the real world.
